PARTNERS / BENEFITS

I am proud to demonstrate that the companies below have all supported Collaborate Sports Mentees either through sponsorship and/or products that have been provided as part of their development. What I really love about these relationships are they are used and trusted by me personally, and I see their products and their support being of huge benefit and value add to all practitioners, and so have included their presence within my group mentorship programmes. Mentees will be able to see, feel, or experience first hand how these companies can add value to them as individuals, or the athletes and teams they work with. See below for more information on each one.

VALD PERFORMANCE

VALD systems enable you to adopt a truly athlete-centric approach when it comes to understanding human movement, performance, injury risk and rehabilitation. Their systems can be used across various disciplines from strength and conditioning to medical and rehabilitation, offering unparalleled insight into musculoskeletal and neural performance

VALD have been a trusted company and service in many of my recent high-performance sports environments. It made sense to collaborate with them, to bring opportunities to emerging coaches, due to their big dual focus on education, but also providing high level technology resources to high performance staff.

So far VALD have sponsored 10 professional emerging practitioners across the world to be part of the group mentorship programmes, and no doubt, have provided a huge benefit to people who may not have been able to partake in such development otherwise. Additionally, access to the VALD Hub dashboard during mentee sessions means coaches can observe real data as we discuss decision-making processes linked to this information.

HYTRO

HYTRO have developed the first Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) wearable designed specifically to improve Sports performance. Providing an easy-to-use training tool, proven in Elite Sports, the company aims to provide simple and practical BFR for practitioners to use with groups of athletes, focusing specifically on the recovery benefits of BFR.

Additionally, behind the scenes, the company embodies values within Collaborate Sports regarding Practitioner education. In January 2023, HYTRO will be sponsoring 2 places for emerging practitioners on the group mentorship programmes.

TEAMBUILDR

Teambuildr provides an excellent and resourceful online programming tool for coaches to use to impact their athletes physical development as well as monitoring. The system was used by me extensively within rugby and baseball and so I want to bring the experiences I had with their technology to those I work with who are coaches now too.

This partnership has allowed me to provide all coaches on group mentorship 3 months free access to the platform for themselves and a selection of their athletes. It coincides perfectly with the months where the programme focuses on strength and power principles, as well as embedding data within decision-making. Having this software available to use experientially is going to be invaluable for many practitioners starting out in their career.

Teambuildr also will be sponsoring 2 places on the group mentorship programmes for the start of 2023 which is going to again, provide even more opportunity for coaches to further their careers.

CAREER BLUEPRINT (Josh Fletcher)

Josh has become a trusted peer and co-author of the career periodisation manual. He also spearheads a fantastic cause promoting practitioner well-being, lived through his company Career Blueprint, that provides tools and resources for practitioners resources to build a career that serves the life they want to lead.

The flagship product from Career Blueprint is the “Practitioner Well-Being Journal” which I am a big advocate for as it promotes reflective practice and ensures thoughts stay present regarding personal well-being. It also helps keep a record of personal growth within coaching or high-performance outcomes.

As a result, Josh was kind enough to provide a discount so I could ensure the journals become part of the soft skills IP group mentorship programme, allowing practitioners to live the concepts around personal reflective practice throughout our journey. Additionally. I’ll be able to provide the excellent resource “Career Periodisation Guide” and the accompanying planners for those who enroll in the soft Skills Group Mentorship, due to this relationship.

HRV4TRAINING

My personal experiences of using the HRVTraining app to measure Heart Rate Variability have been phenomenal. What Marco has created makes me want to bring awareness to coaches of how easy it is to add high-level physiological monitoring to the real world of performance. Having utilised the app in for England 7s on the World Series, and in the lead up to Tokyo 2020 with GB Sevens, it was pivotal to my monitoring and decision-making, particularly around jet lag management and high-load training blocks.

HRV4Training and Marco have provided Collaborate Sports with a pro platform, where all mentees can link their app and their data to a team dashboard. We then can use this information to discuss real-world data and real-world solutions to bring this type of monitoring to life!

ACCESSERISE

Ali Jawad is well known for his phenomenal accomplishments as a Paralympic powerlifter who has won multiple European, Commonwealth and Olympic medals. His current ventures involve him studying for a PhD, at a time when he is also focused on raising awareness of how strength and conditioning can be made more accessible for disability athletes. This has resulted in him developing the app ACCESSERCISE, which provides a comprehensive list of exercise videos for those with disabilities to research and use, specific to their disability.

Having spoken with Ali at length about the lack of specific knowledge for S&C coaches being targeted towards working with disability athletes, it was a no-brainer to join forces.

As a result, Ali will be providing open access to his app for all Collaborate Sports Mentees for 60days, to enhance their awareness of how exercises can be managed or set up for athletes with various types of disabilities. In a mutually beneficial partnership, the feedback from coaches about how to grow the app will also form part of the relationship!

Thanks to Ali and his team for this collaboration! Click the logo to access the app yourself!!

A huge thank you to all those involved, you really do provide a high level of resources for mentees past, present and for those who will come onboard in the future too!
