The Problem: Why Future Ready Exists
Graduating with a sports-related degree is a huge achievement, but the transition from university to employment is uncertain and frustrating for many. The reality is that despite having the right qualifications, thousands of graduates struggle to secure jobs in sport due to the competitive nature of the industry and a lack of career guidance.
Future Ready is a charitable mentorship initiative funded through partners, donors and grants, designed to help graduates and early career Strength and Conditioning Coaches, Physiotherapists, Sports Scientists, Sports Coaches, and Nutritionists transition from university into employment.
We believe that having a degree is just the starting point. What truly sets professionals apart is practical industry knowledge, employability skills, and strong mentorship. Future Ready is a non profit organisation and provides financial support to those seeking employment, via structured guidance, industry insights, and mentorship to enhance their employability. We want to remove barriers and help young professionals confidently launch their careers.
Our goal is simple: To ensure that graduates and early-career professionals have the skills, connections, and knowledge to secure jobs, grow in their careers, and contribute to the sports industry at the highest level.
Who We Are:
Future Readyβs Mission & Purpose
π§ Lack of Industry Experience β Many job postings require 2+ years of experience, making it difficult for new graduates to compete.
π§ Weak CVs & Cover Letters: Graduates often struggle to effectively present their skills, leading to missed job opportunities.
π§ Limited Networking Opportunities β The sports industry thrives on connections. Without the right network, breaking in is incredibly difficult.
π§ Unclear Career Pathways β Many graduates are unsure whether to pursue employment, freelance work, or start their own business in sport.
π§ Lack of Business & Financial Knowledge β Understanding salary expectations, self-employment, taxes, and financial planning is rarely taught in university courses, leaving graduates unprepared.
π§ Confidence & Communication BarriersβInterviews, networking, and working in high-performance environments require strong, soft skills that many graduates have yet to develop.
Future Ready was created to bridge this gap, ensuring that sports graduates donβt just survive but thrive in their careers.
Common Challenges Facing Those Seeking Employment in the Sports Industry

Beyond mentorship, our vision is to evolve into a charity that supports and subsidises graduate roles - of which many are currently unpaid - by partnering with sports organisations and key donors.
This initiative aims to break down financial barriers and create a more accessible pathway into the industry.
